Ditch That Textbook
This is the blog of Matt Miller, a high school teacher from Indiana who got fed up with textbooks and decided to implement a learning path that was inundated with technology and custom-produced for each group of students, as his blog posts and biography share. As a speaker now, he educates teachers on how to best use technology in their classrooms. He included links to contact info for those wishing him to speak at an event, and I also saw him reply to peoples’ comments. His website was colorful and fun, with lots of images and different texts. He included a ton of social media links as well, including hashtags that relate to his material and others. One interesting thing I saw was that he had a sidebar box that showed his blog’s ranking on iteach as number 53. Another nifty tool was a search bar that would search a key word in the blog, to make finding a post or a link easier. His website was really amazing and inspirational, and made me actually want to buy his books and get to know him…surprising since I am not really a fan of technology!
