Dave Burgess: Teach Like a Pirate
Dave Burgess is an author and teacher known for his energy and inspiration, according to the biography on his website. His biography and picture are in the sidebar on every page, as is his twitter and a link to buy his book or sign up for email updates. His website is well-organized and heavily promotes his books on every page. He has a neat blog, full of fun experiences he has had as well as guest posts, with images, links, and videos that are all relevant and supplemental to what he is saying in the blog post. My favorite part of his site was the Pirate Books page, which included not only Dave Burgess’s books but also those by other writers that he found inspirational or were good companions to his. On each book he posted, he included a synopsis, the author, the author’s twitter handle, and links to purchase the book, making it incredibly easy to find one you were interested in and buy it. Most of the tabs are sensible and obvious, but one was accessible only with a code, which piqued my interest and which I assume probably comes with his book. Burgess’ website was so easy to navigate and welcoming for teachers, students, or anyone really. Follow Dave Burgess on twitter @BurgessDave |
